Admit it! Happiness is a spiritual thing. It depends not on your circumstances,
but on your attitude. In other words, it depends not so much on what happens
to us but what happens in us. It depends on how we take hold of life and what
we choose to do with it.
Psalms 144:15 reminds us, "Happy are the people who are in such a state;
Happy are the people whose God is the LORD!"
Happiness then includes not what we have but far more importantly, what we
are! Are you a person who has interest, enthusiasm and a degree of service?
They can't be added on but they surely can come from us. "For as he thinks
in his heart, so is he." That's Proverbs 23:7.
The finest things come to us incidentally and indirectly. Think about this: this
is the first time that you have lived a July 11th in 2008. Why not go all out by
giving your heart to it! Put interest in your family, work and serve others this
Friday. Make it a day to remember and others will remember you for it!
