When a pond is greatly stirred by wind you don't notice the splash made by
throwing in a rock. If the pond is quiet and still, a small pebble can make
smooth ripples across the water. Our lives are somewhat like that. When we
are busy rushing this way and that, what is another thing that crops up to
confront us. When we are at peace inside, like still waters that run deep,
problems can be handled gently.
Psalm 46:10 says, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in
trouble." Luke 1:79 reminds us of one of the reasons Jesus came to this
earth, for "to guide our feet into the way of peace".
We have so many Scriptures that we can turn to for helping us understand
that "way of peace". James 3:16-17 says, "For where envying and strife is,
there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is
first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and
good fruits..." I hope you will find that peace from His Word today.
